Clementine is a family-owned, neighborhood restaurant serving up seasonal Southern & American eats in a casual setting.

 

Relaxed and approachable, the team focuses on creating memorable experiences for our guests. Our open kitchen creates plenty of sights, sounds and scents to welcome you. At our neighborhood table, with seating for 8–12, we can accommodate larger parties or just a reason to sit with neighbors.

Plenty of off street parking, reservations recommended, walk-ins welcome.

John Russ

Chef John Russ was born and raised in New Orleans and credits his grandmother's quenelles de brochet for expanding his palate beyond pb&j. He studied at Delgado Culinary in New Orleans and went on to work in fine dining at the Ritz Carlton and then The Capella Group. John moved to San Antonio in 2012 and felt right at home with the city's food community. As Alamo City Provisions, John and his wife Elise organized a well received series of pop up dinners that showcased San Antonio's growing food scene and culinary talent. Encouraged by the popularity of the dinners and support from friends and family, John and Elise established their own restaurant group in 2016.

When he's not in the kitchen, John might be confused for a gnome because he spends so much time in his garden. He volunteers with Houston St. Charities and shares his love of books as a volunteer reader at the library. John is also working with a mentoring program to assist in the growth of young chefs, cooks, and members of the service industry. Grateful for an amazing group of friends, John is thrilled to be growing his family and business in San Antonio.

Elise Russ

Pastry Chef Elise Russ has been passionate about dessert since she was a child, elaborately decorating cookies with piles of icing that had no hopes of ever hardening. After taking a cake decorating class at the local JoAnn's, she launched her career making custom sweets for her neighbors and keeping her grandfather supplied with biscotti and pizzelles. Advancing past cakes shaped like Barbies and soccer balls, Elise pursued a degree in Baking & Pastry Arts from Johnson & Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island. She worked in hotels, restaurants, and bakeries in London, Chicago, Georgia, and Maryland before settling down in San Antonio. Elise is the Pastry Chef and Owner of Clementine with her husband John Russ.

Elise is a new mother and can't wait until her daughter is old enough to frost sugar cookies.

Patrick Frasier

Patrick Frasier grew up in Corpus Christi and discovered his love for restaurants, night life, and the culture of San Antonio at a young age when his parents frequently took him on weekend getaways to San Antonio's Riverwalk and La Villita. This fondness for San Antonio brought Patrick back years later when he enrolled at Trinity University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration; he has remained in San Antonio ever since.

In his final year at Trinity, Patrick began working around the corner from his beloved La Villita at the prominent Bohanan's Prime Steaks and Seafood. In the midst of balancing college, baseball, and life in fine dining, Houston Street Charities tapped Patrick to assist in organizing and executing the second year of the now famous San Antonio Cocktail Conference which instantly became a labor of love.

He continues to volunteer for Houston Street Charities alongside John and Elise, and in 2016 he was asked to join the management team tasked with opening Bohanan’s sister restaurant, Peggy's on the Green, in nearby Boerne. Patrick possesses a passion for the city of San Antonio and its culinary talent, and he looks forward to building a new tradition for San Antonio foodies and their families.
